Two purple cowls (and a partridge in a pear tree?!). I have two nieces that have each, independently of one another, decided that purple is their favorite color. So being the dutiful aunt I am (ha, ha) I made their Christmas cowls in purple.
The first one (the top picture), for my older niece, is much more delicate and intricate. It’s called The Fir Tree Cowl, and is much more “decorative” than it will be warm. I’ll leave her to figure that out!
The second one is The Gap Cowl (and is available as a free download on Ravelry). I LOVE seed stitch, so, of course, I loved this cowl. There are two versions of this pattern, one is joined in the round and one is sewn together at the end. The version that is joined in the round makes a VERY large cowl, which I thought would be too much for niece, so I made the skinnier one that is sewn together at the end. It was a quick project, if you’re interested.
I hope that all of you out there are finishing up your homemade Christmas projects too! May you all have a happy and bright Christmas!
